I don’t know that I’ve ever seen it so much in a Bible book before outside of Psalms, but in Deuteronomy we are repeatedly instructed to celebrate the goodness of the Lord.  It’s an expectation.  We should be investing in celebration when good things of the Lord happen.

For example, when they were entering into the Promised land, the Lord told them to write down the law so that they would remember to obey.  But also to

“eat and rejoice in the presence of the LORD your God” (27:7)

Eat!  Celebrate!  Rejoice!

Strike up the band.  Get the dance shoes on.  Fill the tables with food.

And rejoice!
